This ministry began in the fall of 2015. We exist to WELCOME Penn State scholars from all nations, help them EXPLORE the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and EQUIP Christian internationals to be servant-leaders for God's Kingdom.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 229.894.9167. We are excited about ministering to the international students at Penn State.
Richard Smith is the RUF International campus minister at Penn State University. He is a graduate of both Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina and Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). His wife of 25 years, Lynne, was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. They have one son, Rick (22), who is currently at Georgia Southern University, and one daughter, Evelyn (20), who is married to Tony Powell and lives in New Jersey. Richard and Lynne are excited to be working with the many international students at Penn State University.
Sara Beth is native to Nebraska. She enjoyed the vast open spaces, paddling down rivers, hiking, and riding her bike. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is where she got her degree in Agricultural Leadership with a minor in International Agriculture. This lead to her first overseas trip to China studying agriculture. Another place dear to her heart is Tijuana, Mexico where she spent a semester serving at an orphanage and continues to visit each summer. After experiencing the busyness and lonliness of college life, Sara Beth is eager to show hospitality to other students and is thankful for the opportunity to experience many cultures right here at Penn State.
