RUF is a place for imperfect people. We understand that every person, regardless of outward happiness, beauty, or attitude, is falling short in some way. We believe that there's a great hope for this imperfection, and it's found in the perfect Savior, Jesus Christ. RUF is a place for those who know this story and want to grow deeper. It's a place for those struggling to believe. It's a place for those who have never heard such a story. We invite you into a community with people in process who cling to such a profound story.

Lee Wright

Lee & Sarah Wright both graduated from Covenant Seminary in 2012 with Masters of Divinity and Masters of Arts in Counseling degrees. Lee is in his sixth year as campus minister with RUF @ UCF. In his four years on campus, Lee has seen God at work and endless ministry possibilities at a school of 60,000+ students.

One of the surprising ways God is working at UCF is seeing how impactful hospitality has been for students. Serving a campus as large as a medium-sized city, the Wrights have had small groups of students in their home weekly for several years now. The Wright children, Tillie, Margot, and Max, always enjoy time with their college friends, and students being in the Wright’s home seems to ease the ache of anonymity on campus.

Lee would love to share stories about God at Work through RUF.

Annalee Bell

Annalee is a spunky, compassionate girl from Piedmont, SC. She attended Winthrop University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. In her free time you will most likely find Annalee reading in a coffee shop, traveling to and exploring new cities or spending quality time with her loved ones. RUF was a vital part of Annalee's years at Winthrop and she cannot wait to see the awe-inspiring ways Christ continues His good work in both her and her students at UCF.

Emily Plattner

Emily grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Tennessee Tech with a degree in Nursing. During her time in college, God used RUF to grow her love for Jesus, as well as increase her desire to know others’ stories and show them the love they are all worthy of from the Father.

When Emily isn’t in the kitchen cooking for an evening with friends, you will most likely find her outdoors exploring every aspect of God’s creation—often hiking, gardening or stargazing. Some of her favorite self-care activities include yoga, crafts or reading, and watching The Office. She’s passionate about helping students at UCF discover their identity and worth in Christ and can’t wait to give snorkeling a try!
