Reformed University Fellowship (RUF)
is a Christian ministry to the college campus.
It is driven by the gospel of Jesus Christ, part of and accountable to the visible
church and self-consciously seeking to serve the widest possible section of the
university community.
-
We
are the college ministry of The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and
hold vigorously to a system of belief that is
historic, evangelical and reformed.
By intent,
the reach of our ministry extends well beyond denominational categories,
with most students involved in RUF coming from non-Presbyterian backgrounds.
RUF
has a presence on 56 campuses across the United States. Each RUF ministry is led by an
experienced, theologically trained ordained Campus Minster. These men often work with
male and female interns.
-
Each
RUF work is under the oversight of the PCA through its churches and presbyteries .
On
campus, RUF seeks as its broad purpose, to reach and equip students to love and serve
Jesus Christ and his Church. This is done through large and small group gatherings and
through one on one meetings. A more thorough explanation of what RUF does and the
principles behind it can be found here.
We
seek to be servants to the university community and to work within the structures
that each college administration may have. We never position ourselves to be
inherently opposed to the work of a university, but rather to raise up men and women
to be growing Christians in this community. Our aim is to train them for a life of
gospel faith and service in the vocations they are preparing for and in the context of
Christ's church.
