Weaving the theological and poetic integrity of classic hymns with a musical style influenced by the likes of Matchbox 20, Van Morrison, Lou Reed and U2, From All Their Sin and Sorrow is more evidence of the wider musical culture of RUF. Christian Music that is ancient and indigenous.
Recorded by RUF students in New York City as a true labor of love, the CD benefits the ministry of The Isaiah 58 Project which provides gospel ministry to people with AIDS in New York. Most of the songs were recorded in a small crowded studio under the path of the No. 7 Train in Queens (the one made famous by John Rocker) and if you listen very carefully, you can hear the train rumble by on one song.
The CD includes a 16 page full color insert with photos, lyrics and historical notes on each hymn.
