The Campus Staff program is designed to offer women in the PCA a place to serve college students across the country. RUF Campus Staff can serve alongside and under the direction of a Campus Minister at a co-ed school, or as the RUF leader at an all-girls school. The heart of this ministry is to care for female students and help shepherd female interns as they minister to college students.
Our female Campus Staff receive ongoing training alongside our RUF Interns and Campus Ministers. They attend Orientation the summer before their first year on staff, and week-long trainings twice each year after that, in July and December. These weeks not only provide helpful guidance in ministry, but are also fun, encouraging and uplifting chances to fellowship with hundreds of other people serving in ministry with RUF.
The application for Campus Staff opens each fall, around November 1st. If your application is received and approved, you will be invited to attend the RUF Assessment Process in February to be further interviewed.
We're grateful for and excited about your interest in our Campus Staff program. Please reach out to Casey Cockrum, Director of Campus Staff, with any questions!

Jennifer Kent has spent the last three years working as the RUF Intern at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, alongside Campus Minister, Reid Jones. Jenn got connected to RUF through her Intern when she transferred to Kennesaw State University her sophomore year. She so enjoyed being pursued by her Intern that she wanted to do the same thing for other girls. Throughout college she volunteered for her church's youth group and decided that the RUF Internship was where God was calling her next. Jenn loved the internship so much that she decided that she wanted to do RUF Campus Staff and is super excited to serve and love the girls of Clemson.

She loved the genuine community and how she was able to hear the gospel every Wednesday night during large group. She is grateful that RUF was able to connect her to a church, a local PCA in the heart of Tulsa. She is thrilled to be able to continue working for RUF to share the same gospel that has transformed her life with college students.
Hailey enjoys coffee, reading, nature, eating/cooking, and being around people. She is excited to stay out west and explore the hidden gems of Southern California.
Ava Ligh is joining RUF as Campus Staff because she wants to help students from different backgrounds who feel “in the dark” with respect to God. As a sophomore at Columbia, she joined a Bible study originally to prove to a friend that she could dismiss Christianity’s claims. Instead, she ended up with more questions, and it was through a campus ministry that she surrendered to Christ and gained a passion for helping students confront the claims of the Gospel. Ava attended Columbia (CC'99) and her husband Peter attended Columbia Law School ('01). She worked as a consultant before obtaining a Masters in Education and teaching for two years. For ten years she stayed home to care for her children Karis (16), Erenei (13), and Checed (11) before starting to explore her calling to campus ministry. As a member and elder’s wife in Emmanuel Presbyterian Church a few blocks away from Columbia's campus, she’s been serving in a campus ministry at Columbia for six years and is eager to transition to its RUF ministry because of its sound theology and accountability structure. She enjoys making fun of her kids, Netflix comedy specials, knitting, calligraphy, and playing Settlers of Catan with the family!
Savannah was born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Later she attended the College of Charleston where she majored in vocal performance (opera). It was through RUF that Savannah developed a heart for ministry and for people who feel unseen and alone. Through the community of RUF and the mentorship of her campus minister, Danny, Savannah discovered gifts for the first time that led to her consider campus ministry as a vocation. After serving three years as an intern at the University of Central Florida, Savannah will begin her first year as Campus Staff at the College of Charleston in 2018. Savannah has had the opportunity to minister to students on campus through discipleship opportunities, bible studies, giving talks, and has even used her vocal performance degree to serve on worship team.
Savannah loves reading, Netflix, going to Universal with her roommates, the beach, good food, hiking (when it’s not scorching outside), singing, Halloween, dance parties, Razorback football, and Mary-Kate and Ashley.
Callie studied and did research science for nearly 10 years, first at Francis Marion University, then later at the University of Pittsburgh (PITT), where she earned her MS in molecular neuropharmacology.
It was in Pittsburgh that she fell in love with Christ, and God radically changed her heart and calling through the gospel, His church, and community. There also she met James, a linguistics and German student at PITT, whom she married in the summer of 2014.
After Callie finished an RUF internship at Penn State, she served as campus staff at Sweet Briar Women’s College in Lynchburg, VA. Callie has been recently called to serve at PITT.
Callie is delighted by conversation, dimples, and big earrings. She loves discussing how people relate, and she also loves to dance.
Not being raised in a Christian home, and having become a Christian at the age of 19, Terry had a strong yearning to know more about God and really wanted to share His wonder with those around her. Feeling the need to be more equipped, she attended Covenant College graduating with a B.A., having majored in Bible and minored in Sociology. Directly after that, she attended Covenant Theological Seminary earning a M.A. in Biblical Studies. Upon graduation from seminary in 1989, she joined the ministry of RUF and worked as an Intern on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee which she absolutely loved. During her almost three years there she saw the power of God change lives, and that just deepened her desire to reach out and help others know Christ and develop an intimate relationship with Him. That desire has never left her and it’s that very desire that has led her to work with international students at Johns Hopkins University in her home town of Baltimore. Terry also loves to show hospitality and entertain, and looks forward to using those gifts as well to reach the precious international students at Hopkins with the wonders of God through His word. Aside from hospitality and entertaining, Terry plays a mean game of Scrabble welcoming all challengers!
Jenny was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. She attended Carson Newman University as a student-athlete; while playing tennis, she majored in Mathematics and Cross-Cultural Sociology. RUF was where Jenny found biblical depth and community. In 2014 through RUF, she was connected with Mission to the World for their summer internship programs. She spent the summer in Sofia, Bulgaria for The Well Internship. Then after graduating in 2015, she returned to Sofia where for the next 2 years she focused on teaching English as a Foreign Language, a supportive role in church planting, mentoring summer interns and sports ministry. In her free time, Jenny loves to travel, spend time in the mountains, play tennis, drink coffee and cook for her friends.
Jaimie grew up in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. She attended the University of Central Florida and graduated in 2013, with a degree focusing on Education, Behavioral & Social Sciences, and Hospitality Management. As a student at UCF, the welcoming nature of RUF drew her in. The relationships gained and gospel truths she learned during these formative years were life-changing.
Being transformed by her experience of the gospel through RUF and her local church, Jaimie felt called to work for RUF post-grad! She started the RUF internship at Winthrop University in 2014 and after completing three years, she felt called to stay on as Campus Staff. In 2020, the Lord called her to leave Rock Hill (Rock Thrill) and start her role as Campus Staff at UT Chattanooga!
Jaimie loves drinking tea, going on walks, baking (despite the many fails), pop culture, having people in her home, and getting to know college students!
I grew up in Sanford, FL, and it was pretty fun sharing a name with my hometown. I was really involved in high school, especially in band and sports. When I went off to the University of Central Florida in Orlando, I knew I wanted to be involved in a campus ministry. I was familiar with a few, but had never heard of RUF. Through the invite of a roommate, I found this ministry and a home for the next four years. I saw the Gospel truly transform the attitudes and actions of RUF’s leadership and students, and it was through experiencing and learning how to pursue people for Christ there that my heart was first stirred toward vocational ministry. I began to consider the RUF internship, but after graduating with a degree in English Literature, I decided to pursue a career in the writing field and worked as a magazine editor for a year. However, God moved in big ways and in His perfect timing to now lead me into full-time ministry and specifically the RUF internship. I couldn’t be more thrilled! I’m so excited to invest in UCLA students and point them toward the sweetness and power of Christ.
I really love both big cities and the outdoors, especially hiking, so California is right up my alley! From day to day, I spend most of my down time going for a run, reading, watching a show or spending time with good friends. That last one sometimes includes singing sessions together (particularly worship songs or the Greatest Showman soundtrack).
Monse grew up as a New Age believer until she was introduced to RUF through their English Club and became a Christian during her sophomore year. After that she stuck around in RUF as a student leader until she obtained her BA in International Relations at UNAM. Right after graduation, she joined RUF as an intern for two years, a job that she deeply loved. She went back to school to get a Master's degree in Political Science at El Colegio de México. In 2015, she joined RUF as campus staff along with Barush. Monse is an extrovert that enjoys being with people, all kinds of food, good coffee and interesting conversations. She loves reading (she's actually nerdy), learning new things, hanging out with friends and traveling.
Laura is from the land of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Forest, VA but also has Texas roots. Cayla was born and raised in Northern Virginia, is the youngest of three siblings, and competes with her family dog, Nestle, for attention. She graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.S. in Physics and Sustainability, a major that she created herself because she could not make up her mind. She also minored in Process Management and Consulting, just to really take advantage of that "liberal arts" education. While pursuing these various academic endeavors, Cayla devoted a majority of time to extra curricular activities that included RUF. Through this organization she experienced an outpouring of love through the community that RUF fostered which is centered around the Gospel. Through the relationships with her own interns, and the hunger to continue growing in God's word, Cayla decided to pursue an internship with RUF after graduating in 2016. After serving as an intern for two years, Cayla is excited to continue ministering to students as Campus Staff.
When Cayla is not knitting in a corner alone, she is probably hanging out at a local coffee shop, (where she does not drink coffee) and is hoping for someone to launch into a conversation about spirit animals. She also has a passion for dancing and singing, neither of which she does well, but through which will encourage herself and others to be their authentic selves.

After being involved in RUF at UT, she worked for two years as an intern with RUF at the University of Oklahoma. She married Dan on the way to Covenant Seminary, where they attended together. She received her Masters of Educational Ministries from Covenant in 2011. Brittany loves college students, teaching the Bible, and the ministry of RUF and feels so fortunate to have been a part of serving God’s kingdom in this way. She was born and raised in the mountains of western North Carolina and enjoys making art, raising exotic plants, baking cinnamon rolls, and exploring Rhode Island with her dog Stevie. Despite her southern roots, much of Lissy’s family spent their lives as missionaries in South Korea, contributing to her love of Asian cultures and Korean food.

Katie is from Morgantown, West Virginia and graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Leadership Studies in 2018. When she's not going on walks around UNC's campus or drinking coffee you can find Katie spending time with friends or enjoying a good movie. Katie deeply appreciates how the Lord used the Church in her life during college and loves that RUF is from the Church. She grew up hearing about how the Lord has worked through this ministry and she was pumped when RUF came to WVU during her senior year! RUF not only brought Katie friendship, but also taught her more about the character of Jesus and gave her the opportunity to consider a future in ministry.
Through serving as an intern for two years at UNC, Katie developed a love for Carolina. She has enjoyed rushing Franklin, picnics on the Quad, and many walks in the Arboretum. Katie has loved being a witness to some of the beautiful and powerful ways the Lord has worked at Carolina. It's been an honor for her to serve at UNC, and she is very excited to be staying on as campus staff over the next few years!
Megan is from Greenville, SC and attended Clemson University for undergrad. There she met her husband, Matthew, while getting her bachelors degree in Psychology. After graduating and getting married they ventured out of the South to go to seminary in St. Louis, MO, where she earned a MA in Educational Ministry. Megan and Matthew moved to Birmingham after completing their respective seminary degrees so that Matthew could begin working with RUF at Samford University. Four years and three kids later, they moved their family to NYC to continue working with RUF in a new context. While NYC is very different from anywhere Megan has lived before, she has grown to truly love it and feel at home there. When she is not at one of the many wonderful playgrounds with her kids, Megan enjoys running along the Hudson River and visiting the local coffee shops for a delicious and possibly overpriced cappuccino. When she is not out and about, Megan enjoys sitting down with a good book- she recently finished Liturgy of the Ordinary and Educated, and has plans to reread the last book in the Harry Potter series in the near future. Megan is thrilled to officially join the RUF staff in NYC after years of volunteering with the ministry, and looks forward to mentoring and discipling students to a deeper understanding of and relationship with Jesus.

Carissa moved to Boone, NC in the fall of 2018 to work as an intern with RUF at Appalachian. Boone and its community has captured her heart, and so she is so delighted that the Lord, in His kindness, has called her to work as Campus Staff at Appalachian starting June 2020!
Carissa grew up in Nashville, TN and attended college at Western Kentucky University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, with a concentration in Child Studies. While a student at WKU, Carissa so enjoyed playing rugby on the university's club team. She misses those days!
Carissa loves her dog, Pepper, and you can often find them walking or hiking together, laying in the sun, wrestling, cuddling, and howling at each other. Pepper was adopted during Carissa's senior year of college, and the two of them have been inseparable since.
RUF has changed Carissa's life! God's work has been so evident and clear, and so she is humbled and thankful for what He's doing and for the ways He has lovingly pursued her. Carissa is excited to see how the Lord will continue to work in the coming years, particularly through RUF at Appalachian. Go 'neers!
