Joel a native of Charleston, South Carolina. He was called to the ministry at 18. He received his B.A. in Sociology from South Carolina State University and currently attends LAMP Theological Seminary. His wife, Latifahia, is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. She received her B.S. in Biology from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and her master’s in education from the University of Tennessee. She is the author of her book, “Vision Journal: A New Way to do Vision Boards.” The Brown's have been married for 15 years and are members of New City Fellowship in Orangeburg, SC. They have three incredible children, Alex, 9; Olivia, 6 and Liam, 3. As a family, their calling, goal, and desires are driven by these two Scriptures:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” -Romans 1:16

“But whatever were gains to me, I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.” -Philippians 3:7-8
