RUF has been on the campus of South Carolina since 1989. Our heart is to reach students with the gospel and invite them into a community that is learning to follow Jesus in every part of life.

Sammy Rhodes is the RUF campus minister at the University of South Carolina. He is from Sumter, SC and graduated from The University of South Carolina, where he met his wife, Alyssa. They have 4 kids, Jayne Mac, Asher, Eloise and Sadie. Sammy enjoys good movies, good books, good food, glazed yeast donuts, and all of the TV. He probably tweets too much.

James grew up outside of Richmond, Virginia and graduated from TCU with a degree in Sports Broadcasting and a double minor in journalism and history. RUF played a big role in James' Christian development and felt it only right to give back to the ministry that gave so much to him. James enjoys playing golf, fishing, and watching and following all sports (except soccer!). Despite going to TCU, James loves Georgia Bulldogs football and is a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He is excited to meet and grow with students at USC!

Caroline was born and raised in Canton, MS. After high school, Caroline attended Meridian Community College on a tennis scholarship and from there transferred to Belhaven University to play another two years on the tennis court. She graduated in 2017 with a degree in Biblical Studies. Caroline found RUF during her senior year of college. She was immediately drawn to the gospel-centered teaching, great community, and really good snacks. Through RUF, the good news of Jesus was made clearer to Caroline and the way she viewed her life as a follower of Christ changed. In her free time, you can find her taking naps and sipping on coffee (but not at the same time). Caroline is stoked to serve USC's campus!
